Regular activities

We hold social drop-in sessions where we provide social space, free hot snacks and drinks available all day on every Tuesdays and Thursdays at St John’s church hall, off Ivy Street, Burnley, BB10 1TD. Everyone is welcome to pop in and join us for a hot meal, drinks and a chat with friends. On Mondays, we have ESOL classes for women only.

With activities ranging from English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) classes, to a sharing table of donated goods and activities for children, there’s something on offer for everyone.

  • Women-only ESOL and skills for life lesson from 12:45 – 14:00: English class of mixed levels for women only. No English level or registration required, just turn up on the day. Children will be taken care of by our volunteers while you are in the class. 
  • Advice & advocacy support from 10:00 – 14:00: come and talk to our A&A team if you have any problems you need help with such as form filling or accessing services. Please make an appointment in advance or you can get urgent help on the day from the team on our welcome desk.
  • Children’s activities from 10:00 – 14:00: a range of activities every week for all the family to join in, including outdoor play weather permitting.
  • ESOL class from 12:45 – 14:00: a mixed ESOL class for anyone wanting to improve their English.
  • Sharing table from 12:30 to 13:00: take home quality used clothing and household goods that have been donated to us.
  • Outreach and Skills for life sessions – 10:00 to 11:30. NHS wellbeing checks, employment courses, mental health supports, various outreach activities from our partners. 
  • Hot meal from 12:00 to 13:00: We serve hot cooked cultural foods by our client volunteers. All dietary needs considered. 
  • ESOL lesson and advanced ESOL lesson from 10:00 to 11:30: Informal and conversational class open to anyone – no booking required, just turn up on the day.
  • Advice & advocacy support from 10:00 – 12:30: come and talk to our A&A team if you have any problems you need help with. Please make an appointment in advance or get urgent help on the day from our team on the welcome desk.
  • Children and family hub from 10:00 – 12:00: Advice and guidance on registering children into schools, refer families for wellbeing activities in local events.
  • Sharing table from 12:00 to 12:30: take home quality used clothing and household goods that have been donated to us.
