It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

Group of people at Blacko school

A massive thank you to Blacko Primary School for supporting our gift appeal and helping us to ensure no local child wakes up on Christmas morning this year without a present.

We are incredibly grateful to headmaster Mr Bailey for agreeing to support us.

  • In his words ‘it’s all about children doing something wonderful for other children’ and embraces the Blacko values of being respectful, kind and extraordinary.

The generosity of the parents of Blacko school children has been fantastic – thank you all! And we loved seeing all the children in their Christmas jumpers this morning raising funds for Save the Children. What a great school!

Change to party plans: unfortunately given the changing Covid situation we have taken the difficult decision to cancel our children’s Christmas party. But our team of volunteers will be out and about on 18 December delivering presents – look out for a very special guest!

Ho, ho, ho: with more families accessing our services every week we are still in need of gifts to ensure every child we support feels special this Christmas. These children have arrived in the UK with nothing and your gift will mean the world to them. If you can help please get in touch with Rachel Retford.

We need your support: our charity survives on our volunteers giving their time and your donations. At this time of year more than ever we need you to help us support local asylum seekers and refugees.
